Adler Planetarium the Next Victim of Ancient Blood Moon Curse

Who knows what lurks in the dark night of the Adler Planetarium? You might dare to find out on Thursday, October 30, 2014, when The Curse of the Blood Moon invades. For one-night-only, terror will take over the Adler’s Grainger Sky Theater in this Halloween fright show. A unique experience that combines live theater, 360° visualizations and hair-raising drama, The Curse of the Blood Moon will provide chills the night preceding All Hallows Eve.

For centuries, cosmic events have inspired earthly panic. From planetary alignments, to meteor showers and comets, the “terrors” ancient cultures saw in the night sky have threatened to unravel civilizations. In this new fright show, audiences will explore the autumnal night sky as a live guide recounts historic cosmic events that unnerved ancient civilizations and resulted in fatal outcomes. In a unique blend of special effects, audio design and dramatic live theater, audiences will find themselves in the midst of horror unfolding in the oldest planetarium in the Western Hemisphere.

Audiences who survive the curse can continue the frightening fun with a Flashlight Tour that will take them through the depths of the Adler and other creepy post-show events.

The exclusive Halloween event will take place from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and is recommended for audiences 12 and up. The Curse of the Blood Moon will be shown on the half hour. Tickets, which include access to select museum exhibitions, are limited and on sale at adlerplanetarium.org for $10 (Adler members pay $8). Seasonal treats, refreshments and alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.
