Viticulture in the Spotlight with Lincoln Park Wine Fest

Jonquil Park becomes the chicest place in town with the return of Lincoln Park Wine Fest October 8-10, 2021. Wine and food pavilions cover the park grounds selling top-of-the-line wine, food, and accoutrements. Sommeliers and brand ambassadors will assist wine experts and newbies alike in learning more about all things oenology and viticulture (or to help you learn what those words mean).

Become a wine connoisseur during one of the numerous two-hour tasting sessions held over the course of the weekend. Guests can enjoy a sample of 12 varietals of wine in addition to access to the festival grounds and a commemorative tasting glass with a general admission ticket or enjoy the full Wine Fest experience by upgrading to a VIP ticket, which includes all the general admission perks and an extended.

Varietals from the VIP tasting list include the Bell Mountain Estate Chardonnay from wine collector favorite Medlock Ames winery described by Wine Advocate as “lightly rounded texture and seamless freshness, finishing understated” and the Ad Hoc Primitivo di Manduria from Tenuta Giustini, a family-owned Southern Italian winery that rarely sells wine in the United States.  Other prestigious wineries featured on the VIP list include Thurlow Cellars, Laguna, Frei Brothers, Verdon Estate, Tori Magna, Beau Vigne, Imperium, Roots Run Deep, Duckhorn, Roberts + Rogers, El Enemigo, Knuttel Family, and Antica. Specialty wines retail for over $50 a bottle in store, making the VIP tasting a unique and economical experience.

Unique to Lincoln Park Wine Fest, guests can enjoy live music from local mellow headliner bands while they sip. A full entertainment schedule is available online at chicagoevents.com/events/lincolnparkwinefestival.  Lincoln Park Wine Fest is hosted by the Wrightwood Neighbors Association. Proceeds from the event will benefit Wrightwood Neighbors Conversation Program including care of Jonquil Park. Jonquil Park is located at 1001 W. Wrightwood Ave. in Chicago.
