A Sublime Escape

Nestled in expansive mountains, Park City’s Chateaux Deer Valley offers a unique combination of creature comforts, lavish decor and panoramic views for the spring traveler looking to make the great escape.

Imagine a gorgeous mountain town resort, nestled within the picturesque landscape and dramatic blue skies of Utah’s Deer Valley. Flanked by ski lifts with blue skies above, the rooms are drenched in the sheer comforts of home, and the staff is as inviting as the same. That is what you have in the Stein Collection’s Chateaux Deer Valley. Offering a fitting respite from the bustle of modern life, this resort  represents  the perfect getaway for those who seek rejuvenation before the mid-year crush. And why? Because it’s spring in Park City, and for some, there’s no better time to enjoy the world class views and unmatched tranquility the area has to offer than its…other season.

World famous for its winter wonderland, Sundance film festival and majestic snow-capped mountain vistas, Park City, Utah is a veritable magnet for the thrill-seeking winter adventurer near and far. Yet, in the spring, the area blossoms into a veritable nest for the battle weary, drenched in sun by day and stars by night. Offering a quietude few other locations can approach, Park City becomes a beacon for those looking for a Maytime hiatus in the country’s beautiful southwest. At the center of it all is Chateaux Deer Valley. Pride of the Stein Collection, this stunning property boasts 46 luxuriously appointed rooms, each with their fair share of opulent views of the majestic Deer Valley Mountains.

At once the property is incredibly enticing, with an open courtyard space complete with a tantalizing fire pit greeting you just before you enter the lobby.

And let’s talk about that lobby. A large stone fireplace centers the space. Balconies on every floor meet in the lobby’s center in grand romantic fashion. The space is adorned in comfort with lush, upholstered seating, warm colors and lighting, so much so, you’ll find it difficult mustering the inspiration to get back to your room.

And by the way, those rooms are also lavished with comfort. Pillowtop mattresses, plush terry cloth robes, and refreshing shower essentials are just the tip of the iceberg of what soothes the senses here. Gas fireplaces offer the perfect quotient of warmth when temperatures dip. And the elegant, rustic decor provides just the bit of warm comfort you need to unwind after a brisk spring hike up the mountain.

The resort has racked up a slew of industry awards, including the Forbes Four-Star Hotel and the prestigious Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. From deluxe rooms to suites, it offers any number of spacing options to suit your every taste and need this spring.

Chateaux Deer Valley is a certainly welcome retreat for those who want to slip away from it all. But let’s not forget that world class recreation is just steps from the door.

Adventure parks dot the area’s terrain. Among them Utah Olympic Park stands tall. Raised to host the lion’s share of the 2002 Winter Olympics events. It remains as a haven for adventure sports enthusiasts far and near

The park presents options include the thrilling year-round bobsled ride, world class climbing walls and two steep and soaring zipline tours (Freestyle and Extreme) that are each a must for the thrillseekers out there.

Dining

Helmed by Chef Zane Holmquist, Chateaux Deer Valley’s Cena Ristorante offers delectable Italian cuisine prepared with fresh, locally sourced (where possible) foods at the highest level of culinary excellence. Holmquist was invited to showcase his work at the renowned James Beard House in 2005 and again in 2017, and is the recipient of the Governor’s Culinary Artisan Award and 2017 Chef of the Year by the Utah Restaurant Association.

Don’t miss a chance to dive into Cena’s infamous breakfast buffet. It’s a dream to behold. Every morning’s menu is just a little bit different, but every bit as delightful as the next. From mini pancakes to a variety of scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon to a dizzying array of fresh fruit, breakfast cereals, muffins, bagels and toast, Cena’s got it all and just a little bit more. Trust me, you’ll need a couple of hours to recover from this meal, so don’t hesitate to cancel your late-morning or early afternoon plans for the day.

Cena Lounge, with its copper-topped bar and floor-to-ceiling views, presents a cozy alternative to the restaurant, with cocktails and delicious bites to sate every taste. The space offers lively après gatherings and specialty pizzettas carefully crafted by the expert culinary team. Whether you watch a game or two or just gather for stimulating conversation, it’s a great place to enjoy a break amid your time away from it all. Of course, Park City’s Main Street is just a brief shuttle ride from the door, and with hiking, biking and fantastic dining options just steps away, there’s no better place to rejuvenate and revive in Park City than Chateaux Deer Valley.
