Singer-Songwriter Ben Folds to Perform with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra on June 16, 2025
The Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association (CSOA) recently announced that singer-songwriter Ben Folds will return to Symphony Center to perform with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Steven Reineke, on Monday, June 16, 2025.
Ben Folds is an Emmy-nominated singer-songwriter and composer with a body of genre-bending music that includes pop albums with Ben Folds Five, multiple solo albums, and numerous collaborative records. His latest pop solo album, What Matters Most, was released in 2023. Folds has released his first Christmas album, Sleigher, in time for the 2024 holiday season, and he recently recorded a LIVE album with the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) at the Kennedy Center.
While touring as a pop artist, Folds also performs with some of the world’s greatest symphony orchestras. He is currently serving in his 8th year as the first ever Artistic Advisor to the NSO. In this role, Folds curates an ongoing concert series called “Declassified: Ben Folds Presents,” which pairs contemporary artists from all genres of music with the orchestra.
Steven Reineke is one of the leading conductors of popular music as he serves in his second decade as Music Director of The New York Pops at Carnegie Hall. Reineke is also the Principal Pops Conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center and Principal Pops Conductor of the Houston and Toronto Symphony Orchestras.. Previous Reineke-led performances at Symphony Center include Kelli O’Hara Sings Broadway and Cody Fry with the CSO.
