“AMERICA’S GOT TALENT” Golden Buzzer Winner MALVEO Returns to The MAC in Time for Hispanic Heritage Month

The McAninch Arts Center (MAC) presents the spellbinding, Argentinian male dance group MALEVO at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28. A Golden Buzzer winner on Season 11 of the hit TV Show “America’s Got Talent,” MALEVO’s high energy, percussive performance style based on the traditional Malambo folk dance associated with gauchos, has been compared to the thrill of STOMP! and RIVERDANCE. This MAC engagement of MALEVO coincides with Hispanic Heritage month, is part of the company’s fall tour featuring 19 performances locations across the U.S.A free MAC Chat will begin one hour prior to the performance.

The Chicago-based contemporary ballet company PARA.MAR Dance Theatre, makes their Studebaker Theater debut with “/ v. anthology /,” 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21. These performances mark the company’s premiere presentation of mixed repertory works on a proscenium stage in Chicago.

The Morton Arboretum, Chicago Botanic Garden Selected to Host 9th Global Botanic Gardens Congress in Summer 2027

Botanic Gardens Conservation International today announced that The Morton Arboretum and the Chicago Botanic Garden have been selected to host the 9th Global Botanic Gardens Congress in Chicago in summer 2027. The Congress is held every three to four years and is the only global congress dedicated to botanic gardens. This will be the first time it will be held in North America in 27 years.
