Time to Dance (TTD) Celebrated the Joy of Dance at Third Annual “Tea Time to Dance” Benefit on October 20, 2024
The Board of Time to Dance (TTD) and Co-founders Dr. Chervony Belsky, and Lisa Gold recently held their 3rd annual “Tea Time to Dance” benefit at Highland Park Community House on Sunday, October 20, 2024. Proceeds from the celebration of the joy of movement support TTD and its mission of enriching the health and quality of life for adults aged 50 and up.
On the day of the event, nearly 100 guests donned their best hat or fascinator and savored afternoon tea with delicious tea cakes and finger sandwiches while conversing with spouses, family and friends. There was also an opportunity to listen to live piano music by Allan Kaye, and bid on more than a dozen silent auction items ranging from TTD t-shirts to a delicately crafted glass three-tiered service tray designed by Caryn Neuberger.
“We could not be happier with the event,” said Belsky. “The great turnout and support from all of the local businesses who provided items for our silent auction helped set the bar for this annual benefit. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back in fall 2025 for the next.”
Co-founder Gold seconded Belsky’s comments, “None of this would have been possible without our hardworking board, volunteers, and especially the TTD Ensemble dancers who, through their performance, conveyed only what a performance can, what TTD is all about.”
Now in its eighth year, TTD offers in-person classes year-round at the North Shore School of Dance and virtually via Zoom. The non-profit organization is dedicated to enriching the health and quality of life for adults age 50+ through dance education, performance and community outreach. Co-founder Lynne Chervony Belsky, M.D., is a former dancer with the Joffrey Ballet and a Highland Park physician, while Co-founder Lisa Gold is a dance instructor, recipient of England’s Royal Academy of Dance’s Professional Award in Adult Dance Practice and owner of Highland Park’s North Shore School of Dance.
