Glenwood Avenue Arts Fest Returns August 19-21
The much-anticipated annual tradition Glenwood Avenue Arts Fest (GAAF) returns to Rogers Park August 19-21, 2022, featuring over 100 artists and 25 performances in the Glenwood Avenue Arts District.
The festival presents a diverse selection of over 100 artists and craftworkers, including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, ceramics, glass, textile, metal, print, mixed media and functional art. The festival also features 25 dance and live music acts on three stages featuring a wide variety of musical genres, as well as food and craft beer vendors representing neighborhood restaurants. Guests will be treated to live arts demonstrations, a KidsFest family activities area, and open studios from artists. In recognition of Chicago’s designation of 2022 as the Year of Dance, GAAF will provide dance lessons and interactive social dancing during the festival weekend as well.
The festival will kick off with a concert, Friday August 19, 6-10 p.m., followed by the Outdoor Festival on Saturday, August 20 from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday, August 21 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

Founded in 2002, the Glenwood Avenue Arts Fest is marking its 20th anniversary in 2022. The event is produced by a volunteer committee comprised of local community and cultural leaders, including Gregory Altman, Wally Andersen, Erik Archambeault, Dusty Ballard, Mary Bao, Diana Berek, Jeff Cory, Jim Ginderske, Alan J. Goldberg, Carolina Juarez, Mark Kozy, Jessica Oloroso, Sheryl Rosenberg, Tom Rosenfeld, Alana Snowden, and Sandra Verthein.
Glenwood Avenue Arts Fest is a free, weekend-long street arts fair serving an estimate of 15,000 festival-goers annually. For nearly two decades, visitors have experienced fine art and crafts, music, live demonstrations, and local food and drink on the cobblestone streets of the Glenwood Avenue Arts District in Chicago’s historic Rogers Park neighborhood. Glenwood Avenue Arts Fest is a broad-based, grassroots and non-profit event planned and staffed by volunteers.
